The fire took place in Tolland County around 11:30 p.m., Sunday, June 11 on Haney Lane in Vernon.
According to Lt. Robert Marra of the Vernon Police, firefighters overhauling the house after the fire was extinguished found the body of a man in his 60s inside the home.
Marra said police are waiting for final confirmation from the Connecticut Medical Examiner's Office before releasing the identity of the victim.
Currently, officials with the Vernon Fire Marshal's Office along with the state Fire Marshal are investigating the cause and origin of the fire.
